Buying a dress on angeri.com

What sizes do you offer?

We carry sizes 0 to 16. These sizes are based on USA sizing.

Do you offer petite sizes?
We currently do not offer petite sizes. However, a professional seamstress or tailor should be able to alter the gown to fit you properly. Always make sure you have personal recommendations for the professional you choose.

How do I know what style and size to buy if I can’t try it on?
Brides who have purchased their wedding gown from angeri.com have typically browsed through magazines and have tried on different gowns to give them an idea of the size and the style they feel most beautiful in. Your measurements are VERY important. All of the gowns on angeri.com have the measurements listed in the description. Designer sizes generally run small. Typically if you are a “street size” 6, your wedding dress may be a size 8 or 10. If buying a gown from an individual bride, their street size is listed as well as their measurements. MOST IMPORTANTLY every listing has the gown’s measurements and the measurements are what you should go by, not the sizing. "Designer Size” is the actual size of the gown. “Street Size" is the customary sizing of today's clothing. It is the dress size you would purchase off the rack at a department store.

How do I take my measurements?
You should contact a professional tailor or seamstress to have your measurements taken for better accuracy. Remember to pay attention to the measurements, not the size. Sizing is not an exact science and alterations made by a professional will often be necessary for a proper fit. A professional can usually alter a gown from a bigger size to a smaller size without losing the design of the gown. Measurements should be taken wearing undergarments only. Do not take your measurements fully clothed. The measuring tape should fit comfortably, not pulled tightly.
Bust - Run the tape along the fullest part of your breast and around your back going under your arms. Please do not use your bra size.
Waist - Find the smallest part of your waist, it is usually an inch or two above your belly button.
Hips - Measure around the fullest part of your body, usually 7-9" below waist. It may be easiest to do this in front of a mirror. Make sure that you stand tall, with your heels together.

What is the definition of “hollow to hem”?
Hollow to hem is the frontal measurement from the bottom of your neck (the indentation between your collar bones) to the hem. When measuring, make sure you are wearing all of your undergarments, including any extra slips or crinoline. You should also be wearing shoes with a heel height similar to the ones you will wear with your wedding dress.

  3. (If buying from an individual bride) Were the measurements taken before or after the wedding? Are the measurements of the gown or individual?
  4. (If buying from an individual bride) Where did you purchase the gown? Confirm the gown is authentic and if they are the original owner. You may also request a copy of their sales receipt.

How should I price my gown?

We recommend pricing your gown between 30 – 75% of the price you paid. The price of the gown has to be agreed upon by Angeri, Inc and the seller.

How should I preserve my gown before I sell it?
We recommend cleaning your gown immediately after you return from you honeymoon. Stains can set and be more difficult to get out. Please bring your gown to someone who specializes in designer gowns. You may ask the bridal boutique were you purchased your gown to recommend someone to you. You should also inspect your gown before you take it to be dry-cleaned. Note any tears, missing beads, stains and broken zippers or straps. Have the drycleaner or seamstress make any necessary repairs before dry-cleaning. Once your gown has been cleaned look it over again and make notes of any imperfections. Sometimes the drycleaner can’t get out every stain.

How should I describe my gown?
Describe why you fell in love with your gown, for example is it summery, traditional, princess-like, sexy, sophisticated, over-the-top etc.. Talk about the color, beading, lace, etc. Be honest about any flaws, snags, stains, tears, missing beading, ETC, even the small ones. You may also want to mention where you purchased your gown.

I have an interested buyer now what?
If a buyer has expressed interest in purchasing your gown, you need to both agree to the terms of the sale:
  • Agree on the selling price.
  • When and how the payment will be made.
  • Your return policy, be very specific if your item is final sale.
  • When and how the gown will be shipped as well as the amount of insurance.

What form of payment should I offer?

If you are an individual selling on angeri.com we strongly recommend the use of escrow.com for payment. It is a secure payment method and offers protection for the buyer and seller. Paypal is another good option but does not offer the same level of protection. Angeri.com does not get involved in any aspect of the transaction. Additionally, we strongly advise that you do not ship your gown until full payment has been received.
If you are a boutique selling on angeri.com you may use MC, VS, or money order. Angeri.com does not get involved in any aspect of the transaction.

How should I ship my gown?
You always want to put the dress in a garment bag, preferably the one the dress came with. Then pack it in a box that fits the gown comfortably. Never put colored tissue paper or colored packing paper in the box in case the box becomes damp while shipping. Some shipping companies such as UPS will pack the gown in a box for you for an extra fee; they do not supply the garment bag.

Can I list bridesmaid dresses?
We currently only allow wedding gown and accessories to be listed on angeri.com.
